Funding of $7M for Northern Tablelands schools

Member for Northern Tablelands Richard Torbay has welcomed $7,168,470 Commonwealth funding for major projects at schools in Glen Innes, Guyra, Inverell and Warialda.
The funding is part of the rollout of the Federal $14.7 billion Building the Education Revolution.
“Building new facilities and upgrading existing ones at our schools is of fundamental importance, particularly to develop capacity in areas such as science and languages,” Mr Torbay said.
“These are major infrastructure projects which will benefit students for many years to come.”
The funding includes
· Glen Innes High School - $920,000 for a new language centre;
· Guyra Central School - $1,969,108 for a new science centre;
· Inverell High School - $1,295,820 for a refurbished science centre;
· Macintyre High School – $1,014,434 for a refurbished science centre;
· Warialda High School - $1,969,108 for a new science centre.
