Funding applications open for 2011 Seniors Week celebrations

The Member for Northern Tablelands Richard Torbay is reminding Local Government organisations, not-for-profit community groups and community groups that funding is available for 2011 Seniors Week celebrations.
Mr Torbay said funding of up to $1,000 is available to help fund suitable projects for seniors.
“Seniors Week activities have become a very popular yearly event for many people in the region,” Mr Torbay said. “It is great to see the level of involvement across the Electorate and funding allows groups to plan their activities well in advance.
“The events can be a simple luncheon or morning tea get together, or a formal ball with a dance band.
“I urge those planning an event to consider applying for funding from the NSW Government to help offset the costs involved.”
Application forms can be submitted online or downloaded from www.nswseniorsweek.com.au or from Mr Torbay’s Electorate office.
Applications will close at 5pm on Friday 27 August 2010 with successful applicants notified of a decision during December 2010.
