Credit unions save the day for country communities

Member for Northern Tablelands Richard Torbay praised the Credit Union movement for its contribution to country communities in Parliament this week. Speaking on the issue as a Matter of Public Importance, supported by Coalition Leader John Brogden he said credit unions in country regions had been doing more than their share to compensate for the ugly side of banking which had emerged in the last 10 years.
